About The Girlfriend Collection

I began making jewelry in 2008-there were some big changes happening in my life and I felt I needed a new hobby.  My girlfriend Annie and I took a wire wrapping class at a local bead shop (Semi-Precious in Brentwood, CA.)   Annie likes to remind me that she still hasn’t received one of my necklaces- oops!  Initially, being uncertain about my work, I tried out my necklaces on my girlfriends for their birthdays or Christmas, etc- thus the name “the girlfriend collection.”  I began with simple designs such as wire wrapping with chain and semi precious stones. Then I expanded my craft to include silk knotting and mixing mediums i.e. a necklace with suede and chain and stones.  I think my jewelry reflects what my girlfriends like to wear today- something that would work in the office or out at night- contemporary and interesting with real stones like rubies, chalcedony, peridot, pearls, and labradorite. I continue to make necklaces for my girlfriends and their girlfriends and so on…maybe you can become part of the girlfriend collection too!
